TRAINING At Axminster Woodturners Club we offer training to our members in different ways:
There are a number of “hands on” meetings during the year when all those present are encouraged to have a go at the projects available. The club has four lathes which are led by experienced club members, each offering a different project or skill.
Our club tutors (AWGB certified) lead a range of training sessions during the year. These are held over a half day or whole day and are additional to normal club meetings. They comprise a mix of sessions aimed at beginners and improvers and those looking for a new skill. A charge is made for these sessions.
Some visiting demonstrators hold “masterclasses” in the afternoon of club day. These are usually aimed at improvers or more experienced turners. A charge is made for these sessions.
